Apple Cake and Sauce Recipe by: Mardyll Albertson 1/2 c. butter Cream butter and sugar. Stir in eggs. Blend dry ingredients and add to mixture. Add apples and nuts. Mixture will be thick. Pour into greased 9xl3-inch cake pan. Bake 35 minutes at 350 degrees, then reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake 20 minutes longer. SAUCE:1/2 tsp. salt In a saucepan, mix sugars, comstarch and salt. Gradually stir in boiling water and cook until thickened. Stir constantly. Remove from heat. Add butter and vanilla. Serve hot over apple cake.
