Submitted_by : Kathy Nowell - Tulare, SD
(This is my all time favourite roll recipe - turns out perfect every time and so
quick and easy to make)
7 1/2 oz. water
1 egg
3 cups bread flour
4 tbl. sugar
3 tbl. powdered milk
1 1/2 tsp. salt
5 tbl. butter
2 tsp. rapid rising yeast
METHOD:
Place all ingredients in bread machine in order given. Set on DOUGH setting - turn
machine on. When machine has finished cycling - remove dough from pan, place on
lightly floured surface. Pat dough into a rectangle. Spread with butter and sprinkle
lightly with cinnamon. Crumble about 1/2 cup brown sugar all over. roll up into
a long roll and seal edge. cut into 12 equal size rolls and place in prepared pan
of caramel. To make caramel, melt 1 stick of margarine and add 1 cup of brown sugar
and 1 cup of vanilla ice cream. Bring to a boil and boil for a couple minutes. remove
from stove and pour into a lightly greased 9 by 13 inch pan. add rolls and let them
raise until doubled, about 45 minutes or so. Bake in preheated 350° for approximately
20 to 25 minutes, until golden brown. Makes 12 rolls.
